  • Hello fellow traveler! Today we are going to talk about some great news that is very exciting for us Iranians: Tajikistan has become visa-free for Iranians! What does it mean? It means that from now on we can go to this beautiful country and have a great time without having to get a visa. In this post, I am going to tell you everything; from the history of this issue to the language of its people, tourist attractions and even ways to travel to Tajikistan.

    Why is Tajikistan visa-free?

Well, the thing is that the government of Tajikistan has decided to make its relations with Iran closer. One of the important steps in this is the elimination of visas. This decision has been implemented since 2025 and now we can enter Tajikistan safely and without the hassle of a visa. By the way, Tajikistan is a Persian-speaking country and is considered our cultural brother in a way. This in itself makes the whole trip more attractive, because you don't feel so strange there.

Language and Culture of the People of Tajikistan

Let's talk about the language! As I said, Tajiks speak Persian, but with their own unique accent. For example, instead of "very good" they say "very good" or instead of "yes" they say "yes". Their culture is also very similar to ours; hospitable, friendly and they love poetry and music. Incidentally, Hafez, Saadi and Rumi are very popular in Tajikistan. If you ask them, they will probably recite one of Hafez's poems to you from memory.

    Ways to travel to Tajikistan

So now we want to go to Tajikistan. How do we go? We have two main ways: by air and by land.

Air travel: The easiest and fastest way is to fly. There is a direct flight from Tehran to Dushanbe and it takes about 2-3 hours. The ticket price also depends on the season, but it is usually not very expensive.

Land travel: If you are adventurous, you can go by land. First you need to go to Mashhad and from there to the Tajik border in Turkmenistan or Afghanistan. Of course, you should be aware that the land route is a bit time-consuming and may be difficult.
